1. Introduction
The Fan Collective ("TFC," "we," "us," or "our") operates the mobile application and website located at fancollective.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, city, and profile details you choose to share.
- Interest registration: email, phone, and city submitted through our waitlist form.
- User content: messages, photos, and other content you post through the Service.
Information from Third-Party Services
When you choose to connect a third-party account (such as Snapchat), we receive certain information from that service. The specific data we receive depends on the integration and the permissions you grant. See Section 3 below for details on our Snapchat integration.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (model, OS version, unique identifiers).
- Usage data (features used, pages viewed, session duration).
- Approximate location derived from IP address or, with your permission, precise location from your device.
3. Snapchat & Bitmoji Integration
TFC integrates with Snap Kit to let you use your Snapchat identity within the app. When you connect your Snapchat account, we receive the following data through Snap Kit's Login Kit and Bitmoji Kit:
- Bitmoji avatar: your Bitmoji image URL and sticker assets, used to display your avatar within TFC.
- Display name: your Snapchat display name, used to identify you in the app.
- External identifier: a unique, app-scoped ID provided by Snapchat that links your Snapchat account to your TFC profile. This is not your Snapchat username and cannot be used to access your Snapchat account.
- Authentication tokens: OAuth tokens issued by Snapchat to verify your identity. These tokens are stored securely on our servers and are never shared with third parties.
How We Use Snapchat Data
We use data received through Snap Kit solely to:
- Display your Bitmoji avatar and display name in your TFC profile, messages, and Collector Cave.
- Authenticate your identity when you sign in via Snapchat.
- Render Bitmoji stickers within the messaging features of the app.
We do not sell, rent, or share your Snapchat data with advertisers or other third parties for their own purposes.
Disconnection & Deletion of Snapchat Data
You may disconnect your Snapchat account from TFC at any time, either through the TFC app settings or through Snapchat's Connected Apps settings. When you disconnect:
- All Snap Kit tokens associated with your account are revoked and deleted from our servers.
- Your Bitmoji avatar, display name, and Snapchat external ID are removed from your TFC profile.
- Cached Bitmoji sticker assets are purged within 24 hours.
You may also request deletion of all Snapchat-sourced data by contacting us at privacy@fancollective.app.
Snap's Privacy Policy
Snapchat's own collection and use of your data is governed by Snap Inc.'s Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it to understand how Snap handles your information independently of TFC.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Send you updates, marketing communications, and waitlist notifications (you may opt out at any time).
- Personalize your experience, including event recommendations based on your city.
- Monitor usage patterns and diagnose technical issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. This includes any data received through Snap Kit or other third-party integrations. We may share information with:
- Service providers: hosting, analytics, and communication platforms that help us operate the Service, bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal compliance: when required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service:
- Account data: retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
- Snapchat / Bitmoji data:retained only while your Snapchat account is connected. Deleted automatically upon disconnection (see Section 3).
- Authentication tokens: stored securely and automatically invalidated when the session or connection expires.
- Interest registration data: retained until you request deletion or the waitlist is no longer active.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Disconnect third-party integrations and have related data deleted.

8. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of authentication tokens at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our Snap Kit integration is subject to the same age restriction. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links & Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, including Snapchat. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
11. SMS Communications
By providing your phone number and opting in through our Service, you consent to receive SMS (text) messages from The Fan Collective, including updates, event notifications, marketing messages, and other information related to your account and use of the Service.
Message Frequency
Message frequency will vary depending on your activity, preferences, and interactions with the Service.
Opt-Out
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you opt out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us unless you opt back in.

Consent Requirements

We use your phone number and SMS interaction data (such as message delivery, opens, clicks, and replies) to:
- Deliver messages you have requested or consented to receive.
- Personalize communications, including event recommendations and updates.

We do not sell or share your phone number or SMS consent data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
